PREVENTION, SCREENING & LINKAGE TO CARE

It is advisable to undergo STI screenings for HIV/AIDS, HEP C, and syphilis at least once or twice a year. Upon receiving test results, we provide linkage to care and referrals for further assistance.

Services

Opt-Out Testing Initiative

CARPBR’s Opt-Out Testing Initiative normalizes routine HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI screening by making testing a standard part of care unless a participant declines. This approach helps reduce stigma, increase early detection, and connect individuals to essential health services in a low-barrier, community-centered environment.

Recommended Testing Every 6 Months

Regular testing every six months is recommended for individuals who are sexually active, use injectable substances, or may have ongoing exposure risks. Routine screening supports early detection, timely treatment, and healthier outcomes while helping protect both individuals and the community.

Linkage to Care

CARPBR provides rapid linkage to care services that connect individuals to medical treatment, supportive services, and ongoing wellness resources after a positive test result or self-disclosure. Through compassionate navigation, transportation support, and peer engagement, we work to ensure no one has to navigate care alone.
