J-RISE Initiative

J-RISE (Justice Relevant Implementation Strategies to Eliminate Social and Structural Barriers) is a five-year initiative focused on improving health outcomes and reducing barriers to care for Black communities impacted by HIV and the justice system. The program supports Black MSM, Black transgender and gender-diverse individuals, and Black heterosexual women living with or vulnerable to HIV who are currently incarcerated, on probation or parole, or recently impacted by incarceration.

Through comprehensive, person-centered interventions, J-RISE provides transitional case management, employment navigation, contingency management, and employer outreach support to help participants build stability, access care, and successfully reintegrate into the community.

Project ACCESS – Opt-Out Testing Initiative

Project ACCESS is CARPBR’s opt-out testing initiative designed to increase routine HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI screening through low-barrier, community-centered care. By making testing a standard part of services unless declined, the program works to normalize screening, reduce stigma, and identify health needs earlier. Project ACCESS also provides rapid linkage to care, prevention education, and supportive navigation services to ensure individuals are connected to the resources and treatment they need.
