Who WE, CARPBR are
ABOUT...
Capitol Area Reentry Program Inc. (CARPBR) is a peer-led, peer-run harm reduction and health equity organization rooted in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Guided by a vision to be the provider of choice for holistic, client-centered services, we redefine reentry and prevention through a trauma-informed, community-driven lens. Our mission centers on reducing health disparities among people who inject drugs (PWID), LGBTQ+ individuals, and returning citizens by offering accessible, dignified care that meets people where they are.

With signature initiatives like the Be Safe Syringe Services Program, Out of the Box LGBTQ+ programs, mobile harm reduction services, and rapid linkage to care, CARPBR connects our community to a world of opportunities. From our mobile units to our community forums and reentry support, every program is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and cultural humility.
Whether we’re distributing naloxone, providing HIV/HCV testing, or creating safe spaces for healing and learning, CARPBR is committed to changing the narrative around reentry, health, and economic justice in the South.
